Shopping in Kalimpong
Shopping in Kalimpong is an enriching experience. The tiny hill town has crammed in its territory several traditional crafts.Woodcarving is the speciality of this region. Since Kalimpong has a good number of Tibetan population, all the markets here are flooded with attractive Tibetan handicrafts, copperware,paintings, woolen garments,purses, bags and jewellery.
Kalimpong is also famous for fresh ginger, honey, a special type of cheese and noodles. One must get a sample of all the tempting items.
Last but not the least, it’s tea! Since Kalimpong is very close to Darjeeling, famous for its high quality flavoured tea, one must buy a packet or two.
