Best time to visit Kalimpong is March to May and September to November.    

Serene, beautiful and exotic is the hill town of Kalimpong. Perched at an altitude of 1250m above sea level , it is known for its alpine weather . Summers are mild and winters are cold marked by heavy fog.Monsoons are marked by heavy downpour .   

Summers are the best time to be in Kalimpong . With March , the summer season begins and continues till mid of June.  For the sun- baked people of plains , the serene hill town is the ideal place to take shelter. During this season , the temperature goes upto 25 degree celsius but never exceed 30 degree celsius . The place echoes with the vibrations of the tourists during this period. 

Monsoon arrives in June and lasts through September . The heavy downpour by the southwestern monsoons paint the entire landscape in a green color.  But landslides are the biggest threat of monsoon season.

Winters appear in the mid of September and stretches till the mid of February .The maximum temperature remains below 15 degree celsius , characterized by extreme frost and  chilliness  . Heavy woolen garment is advisable during this season. This is the tourist season and the hill town is flocked  by a large number of tourists. Winters allow the tourists to enjoy breathtaking views of the snow-covered ranges
